Marionette Noir is a Minneapolis-based songwriter and producer architecting a sound defined as Melodic Noir. While much of the project’s discography is dedicated to exhuming a 30-year-old “vocal ghost,” DEAD TO ME represents the project’s shift into real-time documentation. The track is characterized by gritty, soul-blues production that captures the immediacy of a boundary being drawn and the finality of an exit.

Operating as the conductor of a sonic museum rather than a traditional performer, Marionette Noir utilizes the studio as a site of active witness. This work is an intentional act of reclamation, turning the noise of the present into a permanent, observable artifact; ensuring that once a truth is recorded, it is frozen in time and stripped of its ability to be rewritten.
