The Story of Marionette Noir

Marionette Noir is a Minnesota-based songwriter and producer who spent three decades carrying a ‘vocal ghost’, a collection of lyrics and melodies that lived only in the mind. After nearly 20 years in the digital marketing world, the artist behind the project has finally stepped into the studio to exhale these archives. By prioritizing the studio as a site of documentation over the stage, Marionette Noir blends Gothic, Melodic Noir, Dark Cabaret, and Gritty Soul-Blues to reclaim a history that was once kept in the shadows.
